Sounds like a great voting method to me..

OK, in my opinion it is a very poorly applied use of HDR as well. So the processing is not very good (again, in my opinion), the subject is basically indiscernible (although I'm pretty sure I've got it figured out now), and the title does not help me in the least...doesn't leave much other than the Brown.

I'll all for giving "clever points," but this one didn't cut it for me. To each their own I guess.

Why do you need to be able to discern what it is? What would you do in an abstract challenge? ;o)

:) I'm always ridiciolously busy.. But I really will try to get around to creating a tutorial... Although the more I think about it, it'll probably end up being more of an HDR repository of software and tutorials, along with my inadvisable advice and theoretical theory..

Nope.. You should be, you're learning, and you're getting a great start on a super hard subject... I'm excited for you!

I agree 100% with your analysis.. I just felt generous... I kinda thought the whole thing was a bit cheeky and funny. I'm sure they will get punished properly by everyone else, and rightfully so... I certainly wouldn't want everyone to give THAT image a 7.. It's pretty hideous... But like I said, that whole, confusing people is pretty much a home-run for that crowd... So I saw fit to score it a 7....

Maybe I can just give you a nice 1 on 1 tutorial via GoTo Meeting, and then you can take off from there and write the best damn DPC tutorial ever :)

Nope. It's not mine. Just questioning why an image needs to be recognizable.

I'm sure you will find time later on.. We have no need to rush about on this issue.. I will only get better as time passes anyhow.

They don't...usually. I can't go into why I feel this SPECIFIC image received a 1 without totally giving away its identity. I'll be glad to discuss it further via PM or after the challenge ends.

No need. Did you leave a comment for the photographer so they at least know why you gave it a 1? Though that might not be necessary.

Why do you need to be able to discern what it is? What would you do in an abstract challenge? ;o)

Damnit Spiff! I was beating you (I was holding a secret challenge with you since you are my only DPC friend on Flickr...oops, I guess it's not a secret now). But it looks like I lost my lead. Oh well...

Whoa, the quoting got jacked up there...but I think you asked if I left a comment. Yes I did. I always leave comments for scores of 3 or less.

Nah, you still have a slight edge at the moment. A 4 and a handful of 5's pulled it down about 30 minutes ago.
