I'm not sure if you can see the photographers name when you vote on pictures but if you can....I pretty much KNEW for a fact when I submitted it that it was awful. The main reason I submitted it was because I wanted to try and see if I could. I didnt know it would show up so small tho so I'll have to work on that if I decide to do another challenge...just so ya know...but yeah, I knew it sucked :) |

You cannot see the photographer's name when you vote. You should have noted that when you did your voting.
Anyway, you're right -- your photo wasn't that special, but it looks like it might have suffered more from the editing and posting than it did from shooting in the first place. I don't know what software you used, but check out the Adobe Photoshop Elements that came with your camera. You have a great camera and great software -- you just need to learn how to use it.
Good luck on further challenges -- don't be discouraged by a last place your first time out. Call it "a learning experience" and remember -- you can't do any worse now :)

After you have submitted, and can see your photo is ready for the challenge to start, but you might still want to change it, you can click on a link called, I think, "preview your submission". This will pull up a page that is essentially a fake voting page, so that you can see exactly what your photo is going to look like to voters.
