Nikon AF-S DX 18-105 f/3.5-5.6 ED VR

I did it! ....went and got the rebel. The battery's on the charger and I'm now sitting here reading the manual going OMG...........it's very different from the Sony ....much more complex, more bits (a completely different beast)....this could take a while!

Think my first step will be to set the date.....I can figure out how to do that :)....oh - and put the strap on

Welcome to Club Rebel! I just got mine recently, and my entry in Choices is my first with the new camera. And so far <> I'm heading for a personal top three finish!

You'll love the Rebel. You'll hate your charge card. It's all good.

I just got a rebel for a week now, and the tools dont make the photo... i think the idea is 50% of the shot, the light is the other 50%.... the rebel is just an amazing beast to capture what you just create.... must always do ps after... but hey ! who dont !

ok....have set the date, now the software. Then, though it's night here, will have a better look at the manual, menu and controls. Don't think I'll be watching much TV tonight.........this is sooo exciting!

When I got mine, I just held it for the longest time waiting for the batteries. It just felt so solid after the Oly I had...

this is serious fun!!!

thought I'd show you the first....well almost the 1st.

No superglue was used in the taking of this pic.......the bug was most co-operative......well it was kind of dead when I found it! 5.6, 100, 1/160, Manual mode & focus....straight from the camera.

Got a long way to go but wow......it's awesome :D I'll have another go tomorrow when it's daylight.

I used the already charged battery from my previous canon camera and played with it straight away! woo!

Congrats Sue, and welcome to 'club canon' My first additional purchase was a spare battery (a wise choice imho).

Now you have succumbed to dSLR fever you are only a step away from getting lens syndrome, if you contract the 'L' Virus be sure your bank account is healthy as the 'L' virus can (and often does) wipe out most bank accounts/credit cards/loans - it can even wreck relationships!

My hunch is that the whole battery charging thing is a conspiracy formulated by Canon's tech support team to get you to read the manual! Ha Ha

yeah, its almost torture when u have to wait for the batteries to be charged. luckily for me, when i got my Oly, the batteries were charged to full when i opened the box. congrats on getting the rebel, i had the non-digital version of the rebel, and loved every minute of it. one day i'll have that 300D...one day.... after i rob some banks. lol
