Shouldn't that be "A submarine is a boat" ? |
How many of us saw that before and it didn't even register it was reversed?
I went through about 300 boat photos of many different scenes from Saturday, starting less than an hour before cut-over, picked out about 25 of the best, and gradually narrowed it down to what I think was the best. Quick editing and submitted with about 2 minutes to spare. Hopefully I picked the right one and had enough time to process it good enough. |

Yes, a submarine is a "boat". In Navy speak,
You can put a boat on a ship.
You can't put a ship on a boat.

Someone (a seasoned mariner type) explained to me a while ago the difference between a boat and a ship. I think I understood what he meant, although I could well have got it wrong.

Where has the scorekeeping thread gone? |

Well, not many of us want to post our dismal scores, so we discuss how dismal our entries are, instead :) Feel free to post yours, though! |

Lol, thanks Karen. I just realised it wasn't the score thread he'd posted in (thought he was being sarcastic), but you beat me to it with the link.
I asked SC to move it to the challenge results section :) Sorry for any confusion! |

The challenge description WAS pretty liberal, giving the impression (at least to me) that pretty much anything at all boat-like would "float". :) |
The description called for more than one boat.

Yeah Whiterook, but you did not take into account that my other boat had sunk and was under the water and the other one was on top of the sunken boat! So i had TWO boats!!!!! |

No it doesn't -- the category is "boats" a plural noun, followed by a list a examples which could be used; it is customary in common English usage to use the pural form is such cases where you are not referencing one specific item in particular, but including any of a member of that class.
I can give you official assurance that in this case the intended meaning is "one or more boats" ...
