Lol, had the greatest visual of a li'l shoehorn, complete with toothpick and paper sail and tiny cannon , bobbing in a colourful plastic basin and fending off the evil ducky-monster.

As a desert dweller I remain undaunted. We have tons of marinas here in Phoenix - go figure. I think people are a bit obsessed with water and boating. Shouldn't be too hard to find some kind of water vehicle that will work for this challenge! (that's me being undaunted)

Yes, no question, submarines are boats. You are safe to use NavySpeak in this challenge. For the rest of us, if it floats it's a boat. Even if it's a skiff :-)

But in submariners speak, there are only two types of vessels, Submarines (boats) and targets. Damn I wish I still lived in GrotonĂ¢€Â¦

I am in Calgary. I am landlocked.

Oh yeah...they have a Naval museum here. I guess I'd better quit whining and come up with something.

i lived in botswana for 6years - a landlocked desert 1000's of k from the ocean. there was, however, a yacht club on the main reservoir. what desperate expats will do for sailing... you did have to be careful of crocodiles in the shallows...
