I'm no expert, but the first thing I'd probably do is crop out the @$$ to the edge of the sock, clone out the shoelace and toss a border around it to match your son's uniform.
Try that one on for size!
Note, I actually cropped tighter to his butt to push the feeling of the slide. I don't know if that's the best way to present it, but it looks good to my eye. Kinda like "just got it in the frame" or "on the way out of the frame.
Your original perspective lends to this quite well because I was still able to keep the eye roughly on a third marking (although I personally use the 5ths over thirds).
Regarding the border, I'm not sure if 3 element borders are legal for submissions here, but as this is personal, I thought it would be ok. I used the cue from the belt to shirt for spacing references.
I originally tried blue on the inside, but black really does work best to make the action stand out. White was next because in the picture, black goes up against white and while not a fan of baseball, I believe that a significant part of the culture involves clean white linen/cotton type fabrics shining in the sun... The big blue is natural because of the shirt. The blue could stand to be larger and the white could als use the eyedropper to match the hot spot on his knee if you wanted to.
