It's the Oscar Meyer Winer Mobile.. I say it once in Michigan and told everyone about it ant they thought I was nuts... This one looks more modern that the one I say in the 70's

Ahh... Wiener

Oh, I wish I was an Oscar Meyer Wiener
That is what I'd really like to be
Cause if I was an Oscar Meyer Wiener
Everyone would be in love with me

I grew up in Indiana and remember seeing this on several occasions when I was a kid. I'll be 40 this year, so it's been awhile...

Ohhh, I'm glad I'm not an Oscar Meyer Wiener
That is what I'd really hate to be
Cause if I was an Oscar Meyer Wiener
Everyone would take a bite of me. Kinda like that guy with the hungry chimps.

I saw it when I was a kid in either Nebraska or Iowa. We followed it to one of their stops and they were handing out little Oscar Meyer weiner whistles. We still have them around somewhere. I kinda wish we had gotten some extra to put away and not play with. Mine in particular was well used. I also seem to remember playing with a little hot wheel weinermobile.

I saw one in San Diego within the last 10 years or so. I remember it well from visiting family in Iowa, Des Moines area, where it was around quite a bit...

Anyone who doesn't know about the Weinermobile is definitely culturely deprived. It's famous, a true icon of American pop culture.
It's been around, in one form or another, since the 50's I believe. The first one I saw was in a parade when I was a wee'un many moons ago. It didn't have those round port-hole type windows, and was open on the top so a clown could stand up and wave at the throngs of kids.

Last time I saw it Glenn Brenner was riding in the open part. He was having a ball.

Oscar Meyer headquarters and manufacturing are located here in Madison, WI, so the Weinermobile is a familiar fixture here. Somewhere I have pictures of my daughter and friends standing in front of it at some local "brat-fest" or whatever. (those are sausages for you uninitiated)

I seem to recall some years back a hot air balloon version - and yes I've seen the wienermobile, but it has been awhile.

I just saw it two days ago, in fact! Kinda ironic. I was taking my parrot and my cat on a joy ride (one of their favorite activities--yes I'm probably a bit eccentric, I'm aware of that) and when we pulled up to a stop light, out of the corner of my eye, I saw something large, orange, and yellow. THey saw it too, and must've recognized that it was something unusual, because they both clambered over to that side of the car and pressed their little faces against the window, just like a couple of little kids. If only I'd have had my camera--a cat and a parrot excited together over the weinermobile like a couple of little kids; now that's unusual! I guess that was God reminding me to keep a camera on me at all times if I want to move forward with this photography thing. You never know when that Kodak moment will arise!

Yup,,,,,I carry mine in the front seat all the time... much to the chagrin of the missus. It does give meaning to the term "Back Seat Driver" though.... heheheehehe

I saw something similar at MacDonnalds but went for the Cheeseburger with large drink instead.

There used to be a big red shoe car around town. Owned by Sims Shoe Store. Wish I had a pic to share.

Any other odd autos ?
