Phil's Flashy Bride!by kingskingdomComment: Thanks everyone for the great comments and encouragement. i'm pretty happy with the score not sure it deserved much more. However, this weeks entry for body parts is a cracker! |

You Can Leave Your Hat Onby kingskingdomComment: Hi David
Thanks for taking the time to think out loud. Did you guess it was me or did you have this pegged for Lutchenko. or someone else?
I am not sure it deserved to place any higher given the other shots although it clearly should have beaten Lutchenko's entry of the same model!!!!
For me it's the stark white background that doesn't help. The model is an up and coming singer. She was very specific about wanting a blown out white background, personal I would have tried to soften the image a bit with something more neutral. Lutchenko avoided this by doing a tighter crop, but thats cheating! |

mmmm juicyby LutchenkoComment: Will, don't tell him how we pop the eyes, he is just messing with you!
I think Will has a slightly different method but here is my usual approach. Liquify to straighten any squints or imbalances. Clone tool to remove additional catchlights, Nik Vivezza brushed on to the iris for any colour change, tonal contrast for the iris definition, then selective dodge and burn for the pupil and whites. Finally a quick sharpen usually does the trick.

A Soft Touchby njsabsComment: Another simple classic. That coffee filter warms it up nicely. Is it one of the Nik silver effex presets you are using for the filter or a custom effect? |

Jan 14 2010by JaimeVinasComment: Not sure if a tall tight and narrow crop would suit this one better. Unfortunately I read Ghouls comment first before viewing the shot I am now looking at the wall. I wold not have picked this up myself but I think he has a point |
