PaW2010-Week-16-Outtake1by TerComment: The Star Hotel. When growing up it wasn't there (had burnt down and only got rebuild about 10 years ago). I do like the image, the only problem is that bus, which I presume its why this was an outtake. it the bus wasn't there, the car could have been cloned out and then it would be like you have stepped back in time. Colours again are brilliant, the detail in the image is great. the Bandstand also jumps out of the image too....... |

PaW2010 Week 16by TerComment: I thought this was Walhalla from the thumb. I grew up in the valley so have been up there a number of times. Lots of interesting places to photography up there. The HDR here works really well. The colours in this image are exceptional. |

Aweby RetroesqueComment: Greta image. The placement of the reflection on the line of thirds does help to make it stand out so the composition does work well for that. Lighting is often tricky in these places, and you have done this well. |

bromeliadby nivlekComment: Love the composition of this, the red behind the flower works really well. I might have tried to keep all of the actual flower (ie blue) in focus, but doing that and blurring out the rest is not something I find easy........It is the colours though that make this image, the vivid blue, yellow and red work really well |

Double Mooningby bobonacusComment: I presume this used covering the lens with a very long exposure time to achieve the duel exposure. The moons are well lit, but in the end the image doesn't really grab me. I would prefer (but doesn't meet the challenge) to see just the left moon, and thus the double exposure does not add to the image for me. |

No Self Defenseby Links 2 3 4Comment: A well set up image that works well. Dual firing of the flash to get both images (and putting on a jumper between). A really good image for the challenge.
While difficult (probably impossible) to do, the only thing that gets me on this is the whole image is static, whereas it really does need some dynamic element to it, whether that is a slight blur to the fist and the head or something. That is the only thing that would turn this into a brilliant image |

Karmaby wdammanComment: Very very well done.........Not sure straight off what the red marks are (is that the remote for the camera flash?) but the composition and execution of this is exceptionally well done......... |

Kids Fishing at the Pondageby vladoComment: Thought that could be Michael in the free study. Guess you headed up to the high country. The painted feel is really good, as are the colours through this image.
Just missing Tayissa out of the image, but the I presume she was probably sleeping.. |

PaW2010 Week 14.jpgby TerComment: Ah.....the Suburbs.......I miss Melbourne.......
I always find it hard to preserve the rich colours in these type of shots. I probably would have cloned out the main lightpost (if I had time) cause i dont think it adds anything.......I do like the roundabout in the image, and the way the road comes from the edge of the photo. These llimes do help bring attention to the house on the corner. |
