Plum goodby drydocComment: Yet another wonderful shot in the challenge, at first I thought I wanted slightly shallower depth of field on the wasp, but then I realised that there was no loss with the greater depth of field that you've got. One thing I would have said, is that wilst the wasp may not have approved a mister would have added to the picture in that the wasp would have looked better with some water droplets on its back. |

No, Bubba, I said get ON my back! Viewer discretion is advised...by kavamamaComment: Now that's a spider macro.
I'd like to know what your background is (A plate?), as this helps the composition which is great in every way from layout through to the background itself.
Technically I'd say a tiny bit greater depth of field might have made the hairs on the spider's legs a little bit clearer.
Easily the best spider shot I've seen yet. |

Butterflyby StevePaxComment: Wow there are a lot of butterflies in this challenge. In terms of the composition of the picture, I think there is probably a bit too much dark negative space and that detracts slightly from the butterfly, especially in the lower right-hand corner of the image. Depending on what the rest of the image looked like, maybe you could have tried putting the head of the butterfly right in the middle of the image.
On a more technical note, it looks to me as though the focus is a little bit off. It seems as though only the lower left part of the butterfly is in focus, and too shallower depth of field seems to take the rest of the butterfly out of focus from there. Given the very blurry background maybe you could have tried using the unsharp mask at a higher level. |

fuzzy faceby chalconeComment: Yet, nice title -- he needs a shave.
In terms of composition I like the layout of the picture, good balance.
Technically I'll gripe a little bit, I'd like to have seen either a little bit more/a little bit less depth of field. I think either up to the antenna should have been in focus, or just the head of the butterfly. |

Oh no! My brand new clubby bormicComment: Good composition including the not centred main subject. I'd have the landscape any day of the week, but I think the lack of focus on the golf club and golf ball detracts a bit from the picture. Though you can't control nature, it would have been nice to have a bluer sky rather than just clouds. |

Hello Darlin'by ShiiizzzamComment: Now I went to a horse show recently, and I've seen this pose before -- but I've never seen a horse that looks quite like this one???
In terms of composition I love the fact that he is not quite middled, as I feel that would have detracted from him.
Technically the focus is spot-on, the depth of field is great and there is no camera shake at all.
What else is there to say except great picture. |
