A Stroll In the Gardenby HipychikComment: Feels a little bit grainy and I would have preferred a wider DOF, especially in the front. Compositionally I think it would have been stronger with the rabbit on a horizontal third rather than center. Too bad the flowers didn't just keep going. That could have been a cool minimalist type photo. Good job capturing this moment, those guys are quick! |

Delicateby tfarrell23Comment: Great focus on this one. I like that you've maintained detail through the depth of the rose. Has your background been achieved through a shallow DOF or post processing? I'm not sure but I feel like it's been blurred, good choice, but I think I'd like it even better if it were even more bokeh, but then again you may not have been able to maintain such focus on the rose with a lower aperture. Too bad about the blown out part. Nice use of contrasting colors too. |

Texas State Capitolby SandyPComment: I love it! And I feel the same way about Austin. I went to college in Georgetown and I miss the whole area so much! |

Oh, the places you'll goby JudiComment: This is by far my favorite photo on DPC. I've always loved this book and my family gave it to me as a high school graduation present. All through college I've had it on my bookshelf, still brings some inspiration. I think this photo captures the essence of the book perfectly! |

Crime Scene: 2000 through 2008by wehrmacherComment: haha, kudos for the bravery to submit this. It's a clever take on the challenge, whether one agrees with it or not it's clever. And seriously, this site isn't political? I'd venture to say a good number of the photos on this site make some kind of political/ethical/moral, etc statement or suggestion (and let's not get into the forums). It's art people, just cause you don't like the statement doesn't mean he doesn't have the right to post it. Thanks for the laugh Bill. Also, I think it's one of your stronger photos, especially as I assume you have done little post processing. I'll just give my usual advice, get braver with photoshop and you can take this to another level :) |

Overtimeby zackdezonComment: I really like this idea, and the picture you took is really cool. It is a little busy though, I wonder if you could play with the perspective a little. If you could get the fountain to appear larger and maybe limit the background to just the skyscrapers, possibly by shooting from a lower angle, that might give the picture some more focus. Don't know if you could get such a shot from that location, but it might be worth a try. Congratualtions on a new PB! |

The Price of Successby allinsnapComment: Sorry for the random comment, must have happened while browsing during voting. I think this is a really great idea. The cropping is perfect and the pose is great. I'm being a bit picky here, but the blood stood out to me as looking unnatural. It might be the color, but I think it's that it isn't flowing in a natural way. If this had been advanced editing, I wonder how it would look with selective desaturation. Maybe only leaving the blood and the medal in color, or just the blood. Great take on the challenge :) Message edited by author 2008-06-25 04:03:34. |
