Actually, I have to thank the S602's burst shot mode to take 5 pics at a time - otherwise I probably wouldn't have got this :) |

Ballisticby casualguyComment: Now that I know what this is, I'm even more impressed.
This was my equal 2nd highest scoring shot - really pity that this didn't place |

Full Throttle by ozdickComment: Didn't expect this to go so well...
Marbo and Bil99 were the only ones that seemed to pick up on it, but this was cropped from a 6MP image taken on my fuji S602 and the image size pixel for pixel was about 1:1, so the image was seriously noisy (yep it ain't getting much bigger than what's displayed without further image degredation). Had to use NeatImage to help clean it up. As such, I really didn't like the way it affected the water, so didn't think this would do so well.
This was taken at Manly beach the day after what is known as a "weather bomb" caused huge seas off the coast of Sydney. We had huge waves rolling on to the beaches. I fired off about 150 shots, most of which were dreadful - I had 3 choices that I felt conveyed speed, but this was my favourite.
Thanks for the very appreciated comments :)
By the way - here's the original image (resized to 640x480), so you can see how much I had to crop to get this

escalatorby hortopthComment: Funny enough - but this gives me more the sense of motion than most of the photos in the Speed challenge :)
It's as though I'm being dragged along by the escalator and I can feel myself being pulled up to the top.
There's nothing too bright or too dark to detract from the photo. The symmetry is excellent as is the composition
Good Job !! |

Pulling Aheadby nbortonComment: Excellent - one of only a handful of entries that really convey the illusion of speed. The colours are great as is the focus. Spot on !! You've got my vote for blue ribbon |
