Letting go ?by lmasonComment: This is disappointing because it is a cute idea but the photo itself is not at all appealing. You might consider using black and white to tone down the backdrop which doesn't add at all to the subject. Also, to conform a little more to the theme of the challenge, you probably should have waited for that split second when the dog finally released the toy. |

Letting go of Fearby Rusch24Comment: I don't care at all for the double exposure technique you used for this shot. I appreciate your desire to show motion in the drop, but it's just not well done. |

OK, I let go...by dtouch1Comment: Your biggest problem here is perhaps your choice of backdrops. The toy gets washed out since they are of such similar colors and tones. The lighting does little to help the situation. |

Noooooo !!! Not my favorite cat shirt !!!by jab119Comment: Nice concept, but not a very appealing photo. This is a common dispute between husband and wife/ parent and child so most of us can relate it to the challenge theme, but the problem is the execution of your shot. It looks like a snapshot, with unappealing colors and lighting and needless clutter (the toys around the trash pail, the bag lining in the pail, the cat decorations in the background (although those are cute, they are distracting to the shot) and the splotches of dirt or whatever it is on the baseboard. The overall composition just doesn't work very well. |

The Rideby comelyrowComment: I rarely give out 1's, but I did on this photo and so I would like to comment to tell you why. I think I understand why you might have submitted such a blurry, unfocused shot, trying to show motion, but in this case, it simply doesn't work. It's bothersome to the eye since there is absolutely nothing in focus. The overexposure is unappealing and washes out the details of the child's face and, particularly, smile. The pole on the left suggests there may be something of interest over there, but since we don't know what, it's unimportant to the shot and perhaps even a distraction (as is the blue thing in the background). In my opinion, this is just a snapshot gone horribly wrong. I propose trying again only this time, work to capture that expression instead of hiding it behind a big bright blur. |

Final Farewellby dan_pendletonComment: This is my favorite of the challenge and the only 10 I gave. Not only do I like the interpretation of the challenge theme, but there are little details all over the place that involve my mind and imagination. The mournful posture of the man and upside down flower bouquet barely being contained in his loose grip...resignation to his loss. The depth of the footprints...neither cold nor snow could keep him away. The irregular rows of tombstones and the array of trees in the background emphasizing the clearing in which this man's beloved's grave sits...somewhat apart from the others. The lack of color. The contrast between black and white. The sun fighting to be seen through the grey sky and leafless branches...hope? Yeah. I like this one a lot. |

A New Life For Herby melongrindComment: I love your interpretation of the challenge. What better demonstration of letting go than the father of the bride giving away his little girl. Although I like this photo just fine, wouldn't it have been neat to have been able to capture that moment inside the church where he actually releases her to her new life? Anyway, nice job. |

Light on Whiteby MarjoComment: If only this were a real rose. As a matter of personal preference, I don't care for the textures that expose it as being a silk flower, however the colors, lighting and placement are fantastic. I'm not voting on this challenge so don't worry about your score being affected but this comment, but you might consider a different kind of border. The black seems a little harsh on the right side of the photo. Just my opinion. |

Decorative Tulipsby banmornComment: Wow! I have seen some of the most beautiful florals in this challenge, but this one is oustanding even among those. the colors are so vivid and the lighting makes them leap out of the darkness. Your choice of borders is good. I wouldn't change a thing. |

Fantasia by GordonComment: Wonderful literal interpretation of the challenge. I'd be surprised if this doesn't finish in the top 5...or top 3. Good luck! |
