The Carriage in the Loft...by NikonJebComment: This is a tough scene to photograph. The lighting conditions make it brutal. I really like the shot, except that there is no attention drawn to the carriage. I know the challenge is "hidden treasures", but the darkened carriage doesn't quite work for me. I don't know of any way to remedy this with the natural lighting conditions without blowing out the highlights, but it still leaves me unsatisfied. Would you love to be able to give this an hdr treatment for this challenge? 5 |

Xploring Hidden Treasuresby AmmieComment: You gotta love shooting kids. :-) (that sounded wrong) photographing kids (better) I have similar shots of my daughter dipping her hands into a pond. My only complaint of this shot is the washed out nature of the highlights. I think evening or morning light would have been more dramatic as well. I must say, though, your border matches that top right-hand corner perfectly. I never use borders, but yours worked really well. 5 |

Finding Fleasby UrfaKComment: I don't see this as a "hidden treasure". (just my opinion) Also, I think the monkey needed be be sharper. I'm not sure if it's the entire image, or just that the focus didn't fall perfectly on him, but it lacks that crispness that I desire. 5 |

Lunch Time!by pwm6Comment: I don't see this fitting well into the challenge. I can't put my finger on anything that I don't like technically with this photo, but there's something that bothers me about it. Maybe it's the focus. It seems like the eyes of the moth should be the focus and I think, it's actually on the flower, itself. I could be wrong. It might just be the small image size. (always safe to blame dpchallenge) :-) 5 |

Hidden Youth Fountain...by alinaComment: I really have no idea what I'm looking at. Therefore, I don't see how it works in the challenge. Maybe it's my own ignorance. The focus on the subject is good, but I think the brightness of the white washes out some of the details. 5 |

Hidden treasuresby FusainsdeparisComment: This shot just doesn't work for me. The tilted horizon, graininess, and tight crop leave me a bit disoriented. I think a different edit could have made this alot more exciting. 5 |

Woody's Big Adventureby marcoComment: I'm sure I'm not the only one to say, "I don't think it fits in this challenge", but I'll say it anyway. :-) I like the lighting, though. It's a very good shot and very sharp. Sorry I have to give it a 5. (I'm personally biased against the woody shots too. I see too many of them) |

The Housewifeby figmentComment: Another one that I'm not sure works in the challenge. Also, it seems that her left eye is in better focus than the right. Perhaps a slightly deeper depth of field would have left me more satisfied. I know that you probably tried all different crops and who am I to say "you should have cropped it differently", BUT the crop doesn't quite work for me. With a shot like this, I might have tried to play with some brightness/contrast adjustments as well. I think it could have made it more dramatic. 5 |

Has anyone seen my car keys!?by vawendyComment: A tough sell in this challenge. :-) Overall, I think the photo lacks the sharpness I would have liked. I don't know if the shutter speed was slightly too long or if the focus point wasn't quite on his eye, but it just doesn't quite have it. 5 |

Revealing her secretsby fridjoComment: I don't really think this meets the challenge very well. (My opinion, of course) I'm also not sure I like the point of focus. I feel somewhat cheated that I don't get to see the flowers in all their glory. Also, I can't tell which of the first buds are perfectly in focus. I will say this really grabbed my interest. It does make me scan the entire photo, but it leaves me slightly unsatisfied. 5 |
