That's me in the orangeby wildirisComment: Well, I think by drawing attention to your reflection, you have managed to avoid people saying, "nice shot but I can see your reflection." :P |

Ariaby CharleneComment: I like it! No reason, it's just pleasing to look at. |

Brolgaby ButterflyGirlComment: Very interesting. The bird by itself isn't that attractive of an animal, but capturing it in this setting of atonal grasses gives it some grace. |

I Dreamt I Was . . .by JovanComment: Really has some wonderful qualities. The lack of shading and definition between your model's jawline and neck sort of makes her look a little alien-like. Perhaps just another 1/2 second before hitting the shutter and this could have been alieviated. |

Wheat on the Palouseby jclintonComment: Beautiful shot! Most people NEVER see the green wheat. It is only this color for such a short time. I used to live in this area and I always thought that it was a beautiful area, but it is brown so much of the year. |

montanaby flyboyComment: Montana is such a wide open space. I've been to the mountains and the plains of Big Sky country. This is an intriguing shot because it goes against the preconceived ideas that the title infers. I would expect to see a sweeping shot with plains moving into infinity, or perhaps a skyline that boggles the mind. This does neither. It sort of leaves me confused, but not necessarily in a bad way. I stopped, looked and pondered this submission. While I will feel anxious that it didn't meet my idea of what a shot of Montana should be, it did make me rethink my paradigm. Something that all art should do on some level.
I think that I probably would have given this a 5 or a 6 under different circumstances, I'm bumping this up to an 8 simply because you befuddled me and made me take notice. Thank you. |
