I LOVE the dirty little fingernails. I think the image would be ok, average pretty, without it. But its the child's fingernails that tell the story. I love that the dirt under the nails makes me want to know more about the mom. I LOVE the fact that she isn't a "perfect (in the traditional sense) mother," but more alive more natural, more real. I also think the wood with the nails really works. good job!

This is tricky. In one way I like it a lot, because of the greens and textures, but another I wish it told more of a story. I don't understand it - and I do not feel that I need to understand it. But, because I don't understand it makes the flow for me stop. It loses it visual impact.
