No Way!by FullyFocusedComment: Nice shot - I'd class that as much shock as surprise, but that's a subset of the same thing, so.... Very nicely set up. The depth of focus may be a bit shallow - the near eye is very crisp, the one further away a bit blurry as it's already starting to go out of focus, which seems somewhat odd. |

What's up? by sahkoComment: That would definitely be a surprise - and is very cute. I like the detail on this shot - how clear the cracks in the shell are, the mouse's fur, the whiskers visible against the background. Very clean - no extra clutter - and very crisp and clear. Easy to believe it's right in front of me. |

Chocolate Fondueby ellamayComment: I really like the choice to put this against a black background - and nice control on the lighting (fill flash, yes?) to make sure everything is visible. I like the way the colors (especially the bright red of the strawberries) stand out, as well. |

Camembert-potato casseroleby johnmkComment: This is a lovely setup; I wish it had been cropped a bit more tightly vertically, as I find the shape beyond the edge of the counter very distracting - my eyes come back to it as least as often as your main subjects, despite the way the color tends to encourage me to look at them. I'm looking forward to seeing the recipe; it certainly makes an attractive dish, from what we can see here! |

Strawberry peaches and cream rainbow tartsby neenee1999Comment: Okay, I just ate and here you are making me hungry.... The one thing I would suggest is that a softer light source would have helped - there's a lot of reflections/glare, and it looks a bit splotchy (probably because of the shapes that are catching the light). The presentation as you set it up is so pretty.... (Now, for voting to finish so I can see the recipe!) |

CN Tower Exposedby zadoreComment: The softness works really well here...like the silhouettes. This would have been a great shot for lighting, also. The sky is so dramatic that I'm not sure how revealed the tower is (not complaining here!), I can see it but my eyes keep going back and back to that lovely sky. |

Full Moon Risingby DiamondPeteComment: Nice moon shot - I like the fact that it is not glaring out the entire picture, as is all too easy to do in these shots. The mood of this image is great. After I stare at it a while, I notice it feels a little tilted - which may be what the land there really did, judging from the near tree; it's when I look to the right half of the image that that starts to get to me mildly. |

Roots...exposedby neenee1999Comment: This definitely exposes things, but as an image it seems to lack clarity - the roots are all surrounded by jagged edges on my screen, as are the lines of the vase, but the marbles at the bottom are cloudy.... Not sure if that is just the image quality, or is more the lighting. |

Fog Cityby Pep VentosaComment: Really like the soft look here, the fog and the way it plays with the light. I could easily see this on a postcard - it's wonderful, and the exposure is great, as is the focus - this is as crisp as it can be, and still look right with the fog. |
