Hanging Outby juliejoldComment: I like how sharp this image is and the other ducks in the background give balance to the main duck in the front. I would like to see the duck doing something though, rather than just standing there. The colors and contrast are great, overall this is a good shot. |

first flightby jamesfraterComment: This is one of the best shots that jumped out at me when scanning through the thumbnails. I love the silhouette here and the fact that your subject is doing something, rather than just sitting there looking at the camera. I love the full wingspan and the dof, I'm not sure what else I can say about this shot, it should be a ribbon winner in my opinion. |

The Three Tenors & Guestby signal2noiseComment: This is a great shot, I love the composition. There is a great line formed by the heads that are raised up, that leads me straight to the "guest" in this performance. Another thing I like about this shot is that it isn't just some animal, but rather an animal doing something, and you capture here two things these guys do best, lounge around and sing. The only thing that is distracting to me in this picture is the flipper that is sticking up in the top right. |

Mantis praying in the gardenby zas_Comment: Nice shot of this praying mantis, I love the clarity in the eyes, and I love the bokeh(dof) here. This isn't the most interesting subject to me personally, and my top votes are going to shots of animals that seem to be doing something, but overall this is a great shot. |

Looking Backby TheresaAComment: Nice shot of this zebra. I like how it is standing. However, the smaller animal is distracting to me, I kind of get the feeling that the zebra is looking at me, not the animal, so the other animal doesn't add to the picture. Also the dark background on the top makes the zebra's neck kind of blend in, so it is really flat there, it doesn't give the appearance of 3d. |

Keeping Watchby Blue MoonComment: This is a great composition. I love the color and the contrast in the image. I think that they eyes could use some catch light or something so that they aren't just black. It kind of makes it feel like she is dead, maybe stuffed, making the eyes show up will make her look more alive. I think that my favorite for this challenge will be an animal doing something, animal life, rather than just a picture of an animal, so you are getting a little lower rating for that reason, not because I don't like the picture. |

CAT NAPby Dr_AnitaComment: I think the composition in this picture is okay, but it is really hard to look at because it isn't very sharp. It seems like the picture is out of focus, try fixing this with a lens sharpen. I think it follows the theme well, and rather than just showing an animal, it actually shows animals doing what they do. |

Forever Searchingby JeniYComment: I love the colors in this picture. The old bricks go really well with the dress. What is she looking for? Being able to think about this question also adds to the appeal of the photo. |
