"Trouble Makers" by njsabsComment: Nice! I like that the white is in the middle. The second dog seems a bit out of focus, aperture a bit too large ? |

A day at the hospitalby wejoeyComment: Thanks a lot for your comments ! It's been taken from my iPhone with a little of post processing... I added the original picture in the description.

Additionally, it is highly interesting/eclectic meaning it keeps me here long enough to offer a longer comment and a vote of 8 or more.
This is one of my 9s - I like it a lot. Furthermore I think it enriches the DPC collective portfolio. Put simply, I wish we saw more stuff like this. Let me tell you why it pushes all the right buttons for me:
1. Great focus and depth of field - perfectly judged for the scene.
2. Excellent exposure and wide latitude tones - again perfectly judged, we see all but have sufficient contrast.
3. Extraordinarily cute child, bright, aware and seemingly well but with the juxtaposition of what appears to be a hospital context conspires to communicate a compelling story.
4. The through-the-bars shot is bold, it offers some distance and introduces some order that eradicates sentimentality - a bold choice given the subject matter.
Overall, conveys the compelling matter-of-factness I've enjoyed in nick_hinch's work. I wonder who shot this one...? |

I'm totally agree with your previous comment about the spade. I should have worked more to minimize it. Thanks! |
