Lemon Juiceby StarburrComment: Not a fan of the lighting. A "painting with light" approach would have worked well with the water drops and given the image another dimension to it |

Red Dropby cmarkus413Comment: A yellow drop might have been more appropriate. Manually setting the background for the white balancing would have taken away the general orangey hue leaving you with a lovely yellow patterns in the water. Having perfectly clean water for the shot to be submitted would have been better as it is tinted towards the bottom from previous attempts. The surface hoizontal is on a split level - again not ideal. A final sharpen after the resize would have been worth doing. |

Early Springby AnnComment: The background looks a touch red on my display and rather spoils the otherwise perfect shot. Might have been worth trying a landscape aspect ratio and using a large apature to get some DOF going on |

The future's bright!by NatashaComment: Excellent patterns made by the light almost becomes the primary subject as it is so powerful and so the yellow colouring has taken a more subtle backseat. Well done |

The gift of Springby margetts91Comment: Can't help but feel it could be a touch sharper, did you apply a final sharpen after the resize? Lovely yellow tones set against the B&W and superbly composed |

Lemonby robstComment: Slightly burnt out highlights but really well composed and contrasts well with the background |

smileby stickmanmitchComment: Image just seems slightly too soft which is a real shame. Great lighting though, could easily have been a flash disaster |

Squeezeby kwiktorComment: I know how hard freeze framing can be from the recent challenge just before Christmas and so you have done very well with this and have added an extra dimension of difficulty compared to the other still life lemon entries. Well composed, great black background and sharpness on the lemon |

Breaking th eggby love32907Comment: A general yellow colour cast diminishes the impact of the yellow yolk. If the white balance had been set from the egg white then the yolk would have lovely contrast. Image is pretty small and is not using the full 640 |
