| 01/20/2008 07:47:53 PM | Owlby ladpupmoeComment: first, it seems that the owl is in captivity... personaly, i have a big problem with taking photos of captive animals...there are a lot of animals out there in nature which taking their photos in their natural enviroment is nicer and a lot more chalenging.
technicaly, it seems that the light came from the left (of the Great-Horned Owl) yet you chose to take the photo from the dark side, as a result, the left eye that is showing, is dark and without a "catchlight' in it.
i am not rating this photo, i dont rate photos of cative animals as a principle but i gave you my tecnical "2 cents". good luck. |

awesome photo! like the rest of them here, i would love to know how you created this beautiful image.
looking at the score, if you took out all these 1's 2's and 3's (which most of them were given by "no camera" voters...), you would have gotten a ribbon which you very well deserved!

| 12/03/2007 07:28:50 PM | IMG_2264_640.jpgby HeiSchComment: wow!!! you have the best neighbors in the world! i wish i would have had neighbors like this guy...
you are lucky that he chose your porch to have breakfast, i guess he/she sensed that you are a nature lover and it would be safe to have the breakfast at your porch.
so i guess the camera was with the macro lens with all settings left from the last macro shoot... if there was a chance to bump up the iso to 400 the shutter speed would have been way faster which would have increase the sharpness drastically... well, next time | Photographer found comment helpful. |

yes you are correct, the sun, sea, sand, stars, flowers, trees. mountains sky.... are all there... what's the big deal of just transferring them into pixels.... |

Sean, thank you for your comment, and thanks to the others that took the time.
i wasnt going to participate in this challenge but happened to see this nutcracker, its a real nutcracker that is being sold in a lot of stores in New York, with this package that shows in the photo - i only changed the BG paper to blue.
i know exactly what technically is wrong with this photo - she is off center and the writing is not straight - again, it's a photo of the whole package. the blue BG is a tiny noisy.
other than these 3 faults, there are NO other technical faults.
i think this was (is) really funny but people here obviously had to "show" me something... what exactly they wanted to "show", i dont know, they havent had the courage to say... at least not during the time for comments and voting.
frankly, i am disgusted with the reaction to this photo.
this photo is not a 1 a 2 or a 3, not technically and not by interest - i had about 350 views during voting just a bit more than the majority on the first page! Message edited by author 2007-12-03 01:18:04. |
