"Opps - filling the frame !"by TajhadComment: A more creative appoach to the literal "Filling The Frame" interpretation. (there are a few others) Still not as good as the original that won third in "Fill the Frame II", but I like this one too. Extra points for creativity and originality. |

Literal Interpretationby klkitchensComment: Would have been an original idea had it not already been done better (and won third) in Fill the Frame II. There are few other entries this time doing the same thing as well. Can't give points for originality, especialy since the original has a far more creative composition. |

Filling the Frameby SanjuroComment: Would have been original, had the idea not already won third in "Fill the Frame II". The effect is not quite as nice as the original. |

The Place Where Romance Starts by william88Comment: Originally posted by sh0rty: ...I think this one turned out nicer than the one you submitted for the other challange...so...I'll keep my vote where it is. (maybe a first place for this one...if people do not change their minds after seeing it in the top three from the other challange?) |
I guess not too many came back to mark it down for duplication. An awsome picture...the 2 ribbons prove it! Congrats! :-) |

Ancient Urban Landscapeby sh0rtyComment: Originally posted by Citadel: This could use a quick touchup of levels and/or curves. Nothing's really black and nothing is white. I would include more of the building on the righr as well. Otherwise I like the composition and the colors are quite nice. |
Thanks for the "Curves" recomendation. I never realy knew what "Curves" where, but after looking up a few "Curves" tutorials online...I can't beleive I'd not used them before. The ability to adjust low, med, and high tones independantly is amaizing. I re-edited this scene with curves...it was sooo much better! This is something I will certanly use in the future (already have on this weeks entry).
I agree I the composition would have been better if the building on the right was not cut-off...unfortunatly that is how it was captured. Maybe I should have cropped at the edge of the first building on the right...but I would have lost the panoramic effect. But it would have corrected the smallness pointed out by Smardaz...it looked great at 100%, but I agree the details are small at 640 wide.
Thanks everybody for your comments. They where very helpful this time. :-) |
