Sand Pond Copsesby Les_FeckComment: Thanks all. That only took me 11 years to get a ribbon. I'm going to set a goal for a 2nd ribbon before the end of the next decade. |

Opening Dayby jomariComment: Fascinating plant. Have you ever heard the song "On Top of Spaghetti"? It describes how a very loose meatball grew into a tree. Is this the fabled meatball tree? |

Frozen Cancerby MonaComment: The title is horrible. Absolutely horrendous in fact. The image, however, manages to overcome that. |

Door and mat by colorcarnivalComment: I must admit I have a difficult time judging "pet" pictures.I will freely call it a prejudice. Normally when I see cat or dog I give it a 5 and move on. There is something about this image, however, that is appealing. It is not a portrait. It is a well seen and well balanced, interesting and artistic composition. Very well done. |

Ready for Workby jomariComment: This is well done. Mundane need not be drab and dreary. This entry really stands out. |

fanby 2mccsComment: My favorite in this challenge but I am not exactly sure why. I can't tell if it is highly processed or not processed at all.Is is it shadow or real? Is it an imprint? Perhaps a shroud? It is skeletal. It is substantial. It is flat at first viewing but becomes multi-dimensional. It is like a tunnel. The edge of an abyss. I too am a fan. |

no waft of wind for the Emperorby lei_73Comment: Very sharp. Great attention to detail. This is what I aspire to. This photo best meets the challenge description. It is an artful blend. |

Paint the cityby NeatComment: Magnificent desolation. The highlights are brilliant. Pressing boundaries in highlights, shadows, and processing, but exquisitely hyper-fastidious. |
