make new friends by PennyStreetComment: Great image! Only nitpick is that the person right behind the 'focus' character is clearly overlaid from a shot taken at a completely different angle from all the other subjects (or is 8' tall and wearing lean shoes). I'm guessing this was done to fill the white space and balance the image? May not have noticed if he was motion blurred like the other people in the shot. |

gutter ballby fngood83Comment: Originally posted by sidpixel:

Took me a second to find the ball as well, but now that I see it I really like this composition. Maybe could have been taken a few seconds sooner with the ball still on it's way down the gutter, just so it pops more. However this is clearly a candid shot, and trying to recreate such moments again can be tough, especially with child subjects. Could use advanced editing to move the ball (and reflection) back 5-10 feet, but once you see it the effect is probably the same.
Either way, I love the leaning stance (assumed by all bowlers with a questionable throw) that still says with childlike hope "please ball, just move left a little more...", even though an adult can see it's clearly too late. A wonderful capture of childhood fun and innocence. Message edited by author 2015-09-09 12:04:39. |

Cathedral Arch by hesitantComment: Lived in Lincoln for a few months, recognized this instantly and know exactly which arch this was taken from as I tried to compose a similar shot myself a couple times (with nowhere close to this effect). I like the iron hinge posts on each side of the arch, adds a great sense of scale. Very well done. |

Frostby giantmikeComment: Kind of looks like an (abstract) Japanese temple, possibly on a hill. |

Sandby MondComment: Apologies for the unavoidable pun, but I would have liked this better if the image quality didn't look so... grainy. |
