Very effective shot. Nicely captured and well edited. The level detail is
superb IMO. Cropping is great too. Haunting in a way. Nice work.

This is a lovely shot. The only thing negative I would say is that if you look closely at the wing of the butterfly, there is a sort of blurring around it. What did you sharpen this in? Was it RAW? And what lens did you use?

PS You should get over 5 without too much of a problem IMHO.

Must get hold of one of those Canon EF 50mm f/1.8 II lenses, so I can do things like this. Nice capture.

I like this. Long exposures with flashlight assistance are full of potential, as you have demonstrated. Did you see any hot white pixels. I guess not seeing as this was a basic editing challenge.

When I tried some shots like this I saw some white pixels at 15 and 30 sec exposures. Easy to edit out, but this is not allowed for basic editing.

Always remember to use a good lock.

Thanks to all who voted - I was at 5.5 for a while, then I started to slip. Still, I scored better than in my first attempt at a challenge.

And thanks for the comments. The bike was not mine - it's being slowly dismantled round the corner from my house - both mudguards have now gone...

I actually rested the camera on the ground to get the shot and as I could not see what I was shooting, it took me a few attempts to get something I liked. I took around 30 pics altogether and I selected the one I thought was most effective. I went the b/w route to give the image more 'mood'.
