Selective desaturation in this photograph is mostly random and pointless. Many of the parts remaining in color are oversaturated and very distracting. If this image were completely in color, I'd give it a seven. If it were completely in black and white, I'd give it a six. I'm going to have to give it a four because it's just very messy.

Very noisy and grainy.. Background is very distracting.

My suggestion is to convert this to black and white or desaturated sepia, and blur the background a bit. It'll give it an old/dirty look, but that can be a very good thing when you've got alot of noise and grain.
