The Hidden Millby dcanossaComment: Thank you for the comments. Very instructive! I took this picture in 2006, and yes, the idea was to actually have the branches and leaves in front, which gave the picture a nice coloring and an interesting feeling. I took another one from a different angle and it was too green and flat. I agree that some soft focus on the branches might give this a nicer perspective, but there's very little you can do with a basic compact camera. Same with the overexposed bits.
I admit I'm a little disappointed at the grading. It's not my best picture and I wasn't expecting this to be my personal best or anything, but a 4.84 seems to be a bit too low, IMO.
Thank you all again! |

The Archesby dcanossaComment: Thank you everyone for your nice comments. It's been a fun week after such a long time since I had participated in a challenge! And I got back here with a PB! And first time I didn't get any 1's, 2's or 3's! :)
Just in case some of you may not recognize this place, this is the Tower Bridge, in London. |

The Dressing Down by vawendyComment: My favorite! I could stare at this picture for hours. There is a whole story behind this, that each viewer can imagine in their own minds. While mostly real, this picture is exactly like a painting. Love the colors, love the theme, love the setting. I also really enjoyed reading your "tale"!! Congrats to you, to the guy and to the chicken! I must say, I'd like to have a print of this too, and frame it! |

Was it really necessary to add that "or perhaps a robe" comment? Perhaps you need to realize that he is a human being like you. I agree on the lighting, though. |

Walk Awayby tvsometimeComment: Originally posted by Purple_Girl: This could be viewed as a comment on social acceptance norms and the perception of beauty, i.e. the man is walking away from the statue of the very rotund lady, which reflects a lot of the feeling amongst men concerning real women in everyday life, due in part to the standards of beauty put upon us by media. I'm actually bumping my vote up on this one since it made me ponder. |
I totally agree with you. It seems like nudity (even partial) is only suitable for trim people. That tells a lot about us as a society, everywhere. Message edited by author 2013-04-10 10:22:37. |
