There were a couple about the cropping and this was a tricky one. The original shot had everything in it but without cropping the left hand rose the shot seemed very inbalanced and i think the composition was better this way. But then i know cropping elements off does make the shot badly composed.

Thanks for the comment, the DOF was a kept shallow on purpose as to take away as much distraction as possible and focus wholey on one of the coins. So i adjusted down to until i had just the whole 20pence piece in the center completely within the dof and left it there. I think this would appear very busy if everything was within the dof

Hi Macrothing, i'm not sure why this isn't fitting the challenge?

Thanks for the comments everyone, i did plan the shot to have a narrow dof focused on the eyes but this seems to be the main gripe so i will bare that in mind for the future. thanks again.

The main focus seems to be on the cats paw rather then its eyes/face. Which is a shame as i really like the lighting
