Well thats one way to cut the ribbon... by PhotoDaveComment: Originally posted by dmadden: Now this is upside down by comparison, to wat i've seen. Although I wish u had cloned out that green line. The man standing also adds to the perspective. I hope you do well 9 |
Thanks for the vote :) the green line was an integral part of the scene where there are 2 guys on the ground holding poles with that green ribbon hanging there between them and the plane had to fly upside down to cut the ribbon which was not very high off the ground as you can see.

Last one outby PhotoDaveComment: Originally posted by rox_rox: WOW, I can't believe I never saw this one! Amazing! This deserves a much higher score and many more comments. If I were to offer any improvement, it might be to crop a little more off the left side. The color, sharpness, DOF, detail...everything is so good. Just gorgeous! |
you are too kind Roxanne ;) |

Picnic in the mountainsby PhotoDaveComment: Originally posted by zaflabout: very nice shot, great landscape, but here is my take on why this did not score higher:
the colors a bit over saturated, in way i can't seem to focus on one spot because the blue color is overwhelming and taking away from the scenary.
my recomendation is this , try tone mapping since you have this shot in raw, generate couple of jpegs at different exposure and load them in Adobe , there is a thread somewhere on how to do that. or of course you can give phtomatix a shot. i am pretty sure this might give it a boost to the 6's. |
Thanks for the comments, I agree it was a little over saturated, it was one of the first few tries I did with a new polarizer on my 17-40L. Ive been thinking of looking in to photomatix and mite give the demo a shot if I get a chance in the near future...

Moonby zaflaboutComment: Saw your post about wanting to reach the 1000 received comment mark so I figured I would try to help out a little but must say at first glance I love this photo, great composition but would be better if the moon was a little less grainy but other than that I think its awesome!!
