Excellent suggestion about the cropping - thanks. No, it's not your monitor, it's an extremely badly lit shot. I had to decide between finding a light, a bulb, and an extension cord while the sunflowers shriveled in the snow (yes, they were real), or going with what was at hand. Bad choice. Well-lit dying flowers would have been more interesting. I may try to recreate this when I have more time.
