Newton's appleby PanoComment: very nice shot, i like the spotlight effect on newton and his apples. the unfortunate thing about it, is that i can see the string that's holding the apple. if i may suggest, hanging the apple at an angle may have been better, as it looks set up here. great idea and processing though :) 8 |

Plant Taxonomy: Adiantum pedatum (maidenhair fern)by fisheyeComment: i love the lines and focus here. the bright greens really draw me in, and the sharp black lines lead into a spiral. good job here, maybe some water droplets (cliche as they may be) would have been a good idea all over to add life. |

Psittacine Aviculture = Beauty & Majestyby Mystique2Comment: i like the capture and crop very much. the lack of lighting on the tail though kind of makes it fade into the background, which is something i'm not liking, as the rest of the subject is visible. great idea though, 6 |

BiRDiEby Lisaaaaa_Comment: very brightly colored photo, I like it. there seems to be too much grain in the blue areas though, maybe from too much saturation or over sharpening? i think i would have preferrred the crop being closer to the head too, as the dead space detracts. also the "x" branch by the beak distracts because it's too bright. i don't mean to be down on you, just trying to make some pointers. great capture though, looks as if the bird is listening to you talk. 5 |

Apothecary Past to Presentby KaDiComment: very nice shot and idea, i like the clean lines and focus. the fact that the doors are not even does not appeal to me, either that or if they'd been not in the photo at all. still, i like the idea a lot, as some of the pieces of the past are becoming much more popular in today's world. 7 |

The Nutty Professorby BrianRComment: very interesting. the sticky liquids being at weird angles are throwing me off a bit as i look through the picture. the glasses and oversaturation in the hair are a very nice touch. good idea, 6 |

Macroscopic Photon Interactionsby andraskComment: well, i don't particularly like this a lot. it does remind me of a honey comb, in colors and shapes, but it is a very good and original idea. 5 |

A simle reactionby onarComment: whoohoo, magnesium? i like the shot, and the crop. the border you've included is wonderful, as it's there as an afterthought, more than intruding into the picture. i think i would have liked to see it as just the blue line over the photo as the border, so the sparks could come through. the colors are bright, and your contrast is really well done. capitals in your title to make it consistent would have been good, but it's still a good shot. 6 |

Weird Science: Unexpected Affect of Double-Polarized Light Raysby zymaraComment: Well, as a shot i like it. the rainbow effect given by the polarizers is very good looking, and it adds interest to an otherwise kind of dreary photo of yet another mountain. (nothing against you here, it's just that i've seen a lot of mountains) the spelling mistake in the title (wrong affect/effect) is a bit of a downer, but i do overall like the photo. one other thing i'm coming to see as i look at it is that the color overlay seems to detract from the focus and sharpness. overall, very well done, 7 |
