salt tumbler and otherby shaundpComment: Nice juxtaposition. Plenty of detail in the reflections and refractions of the salt shaker - the essence of a good glass photo.
I can't fault it; but I'd call it competent, rather than inspired - which is about as good as I ever aspire too... :-) |

Ghostly catby vencapComment: A nice simple idea, well executed. There is sufficient detail in the shadow (particularly the reflection) to make the picture complete. |

Kaleidoscopeby sherpetComment: There is some fascinating stuff going on inside the glass, here. But I find the busy periphery too distracting.
If this was an advanced editing challenge, I'd suggest blurring and desaturating the background. For a basic editing challenge like this, though, you're going to have to think of another way of composing the shot; getting the colour inside the glass with creating too distracting a background. |

Seen better days...by locutusComment: Originally posted by talikf: I have a similar picture taken here in Uruguay. This is really nice, I think the color tone works well. When are you participating in the challenges? Looks like you would do pretty well... |
Thank you. If and when I see a challenge topic that I find some inspiration for, then I'll submit a photo. I expect I'll submit something soon. I only signed up yesterday - so no rush... |

Greyledge Fallsby SJCarterComment: Oh no, yet another waterfall shot!! :-)
But I like the use of the two huge rocks to guide your eye into the waterfall itself. And the use of slow exposure to provide the misty feel to the water and the extended depth of field for the static elements. It all works well together to create a powerfully primeval, spiritual result. |

Flowby justin_hewlettComment: By the time I get through rating photos for this challenge, I will be well and truly over waterfall shots!!
But this one is a beautiful example of the genre. Free falling water spray at the top, solid flowing water in the middle, breaking over rocks at the bottom. All nicely framed, with the static elements crisp, perfectly exposed and emphatically moist. Enhanced with just the right amount of exaggeration in the colour.
I'll give it a 10. |

Colors in Motionby sherpetComment: Wow. Love it! I've no idea what it is, but I love it.
Very rich, with a sense of detail just out of reach in the reflection in the globe. The blue and red circular blurs certainly impart a sense of speed. |

Quivering Legsby djtj1980Comment: A nice sense of motion here. And, if you'll excuse the pun, the image flows nicely - drawing the eye from the relatively low-key water flow at the top to the maelstrom at the bottom.
Could've maybe benefited from some more striking lighting, but we don't always have much control over that for outside shots, eh? |

Passing Tonesby graphicfunkComment: I've no idea what this is, but it is very evocative of movement. Liquid, wind, ethereal.
I'd love to know how you did it. |

Nicky Hayden, winner of the Dutch TT MotoGP by AzrifelComment: Great. Love it.
This one captures just about the right amount of rotational blur in the wheels to complement the directional blur of the background.
It's a shot that's been done a million times before, of course. But this one is exceptionally well done, to my eye.
I wonder, though, whether the reds are maybe just a bit overcooked? I'd have to see it with the reds toned down a little to decide... |
