Salt n Pepper Comboby diablo2097Comment: Very nicely done.
It's a shame that the stem of the glass on the right is a bit washed out. and the black/white background looks just a tad too much like it's completely a product of photoshop. But that's just nitpicking - overall it works well. |

Pianistby GryphxComment: I tried a similar concept to this for this challenge. It's hard to make it work, eh?
This comes close, but the fingers don't look like they're playing the keys, and the framing of the hand is off. |

hamburger standby undieyatchComment: Yep, it's a hamburger stand, alright.
Of itself, it's a good shot, though not everyone will like the dominance of the shadows. I like the yellow of the incandescent lights, and the moody silhouette of the people. But it doesn't really say "black and white" to me. It's got lots of black and white, so it's hard to say DNMC, but... |

LOCOby fordmanf1Comment: Nice shot. A spectacularly clean bit of locomotive. Maybe just a slightly narrower depth of field, with the right hand drifting a little OOF, might have added to the effect. |

Sheet Music in Colorby br o kenl o veComment: This is competently done - well composed, etc. But the juxtaposition of the sheet music with the foliage just doesn't grab me, I'm afraid. |

a simple formulaby tateComment: Nicely done. Angling the glass is a neat touch. It's a shame that the shutter speed required for a shot like this forces some of the droplets out of focus, but I'm not sure what you can do about that. |

Black and White in Iridescentby rebs138Comment: a nice idea, but I would hav focussed differently. The feathers draw the eye up towards the head. I would have focussed on the head, with just sufficiently narrow depth of field to allow the foreground feathers to start to go OOF. |

The Heart of a Machineby raishComment: More grey than strikingly black 7 white. This doesn't really "speak" to me, if that's not too pretentious. There are lots of interesting angles, light & shadow, detail, etc. But you haven't really made much of it, I'm afraid. |

Where is the milk??by MilacroftComment: Nice textures in the glass.
I wonder, though, whether the choice to silhouette the cat was deliberate, or to make the most of a poor exposure of the cat's features.
Nicely framed and composed, though. |
