Bela Fleckby jeroweComment: Love this shot.
I just heard Bela Fleck for the first time a few months ago, and I was blown away!
I bet the concert was a blast. |

Old Barn - Sepiaby bbower1956Comment: I think this works very nicely.
The sepia gives it that nostalgic feel. The smaller building balances the composition.
This is a nice subject with lots of character. I've seen framed prints (not nearly as appealing as this) selling for hundreds of dollars in galleries.
Good stuff. |

Reflections in Colorby BudComment: I'm surprised that it's taken this long for this photo to get a comment. Oh well. Here goes.
I think the colours really work; both the water and the boats.
I like that you let the boats run out of frame but I think it would have more power to crop a little off top and bottom...to mimic the proportions of the boats and to lose the blobs of shadow near the top left.
Very pretty. |

Lindbergh Pan BW.jpgby ericwooComment: Is that Atlanta?
This is gorgeous. Nice compositional balance. Very careful, restrained use of contrast. This kind of skyline shot often seems to be too moody, too obvious. This one is easy on the eye and interesting at the same time.
This is one I'd have in a frame on my wall. |

289451.jpgby Art RoflmaoComment: Bears frighten me.
Did you get this in the wild, or in some kind of enclosure? Either way, this is a great photo.
The out of focus background adds to the feeling of power in the animal, making it seem more than just an element of a wider landscape...more of a presence.
Good work. |

Wings of Desireby melismaticaComment: I think the loose frame at the bottom is very effective but the amount of white in the clouds in the lower half of the frame kind of distracts from the subject.
Do you think there might be some way to soften/reduce the effect of the clouds? I suppose re-framing or some serious processing are the only options. |

Ridingby hudsonComment: At first glance I thought this didn't work. But I came back and took a closer look.
I think you've used the DOF well, and it's a nice treatment of the subject. Most motorcycle shots would have the bike in focus.
I agree with another commentor that maybe cropping a little off the right side would help in the composition but, it's already pretty nice.
Good work. |

Riannaby TlemetryComment: This is lovely.
The shallow DOF works really well with the straight-on pose. The lighting is soft and indistinct, adding a softness to the whole scene.
The effect is almost painterly. |
