I think it would look better if you cropped off everything below and to the left of the chairs.

Several things would happen:
The subject would fill the frame, the horizon would fall at the bottom third (law of thirds), and the elements would form a triangle (triangle rule).

I love the saturation polarizers give to skies in landscapes, but it's really tricky to get consistant saturation when using them with wide angle lenses. If your final composition were to be the crop I suggested, you could have used a longer lens and the effect may not have been as noticeable. You might have done better shooting w/o the filter and fixing up levels in PP.

I hope it doesn't sound like I'm harsh on this pic. I like this composition a lot, but I think a couple of small changes would make it more appealing to me.

OMG, I just laughed out loud.

I have a crazy hot sauce collection including some really foul 16,000,000 Scoville units stuff from Costa Rica that requires eye and hand protection when opening the bottle (it's basically a sludge of pure capsaicin crystals in a little bit of oil).

I made a video of a buddy trying a drop of it on a toothpick, then holding his head in the sink running water over his tongue for about 15 minutes -- it's too long to put the whole thing on youtube.

DOF on macro shots is notoriously thin. It looks like no part of your subject made it into focus.

I'm guessing you weren't officially hired to be an event photographer at this race, and this is more or less a candid shot you sneaked. If you were hired to be an event photographer, this shot is inexcusable.

The sun is behind your subject. The subject doesn't fill the frame. It's horribly underexposed, and looks like you tried to salvage it with photoshop. That's why there's color noise on the girls' skin and the background is hazy and washed out.

You should have gotten between the Sun and the girls, not the girls between you and the Sun. It also would have been nicer if the girls smiled for the camera and gave you a sexy pose.

If you weren't an event photographer, the thing to do would have been to act as if you were, approach the girls, ask them to pose for you (with the Sun at YOUR back), been charming, gotten in really close and filled the frame with golden, sun-drenched flesh, then gotten the hell out of there before someone noticed you didn't belong and called security.
