The Bridgeby bcobleComment: I'm not sure why, since there arent any distinct things I dislike about the image, but it just doesnt grab me. I'm not a fan of the tilt, but it doesnt bother me. There just doesnt seem to be anything in the image to pull and retain my attention. It's just one of those 'ok, next' type images. |

Drops of Lifeby perotyComment: I find most of the water droplets to be distracting. Some of them are halo'd with blue/purple (chromatic aberration). I'm not really sure what the subject is. I'm guessing it is the leaf, but there are so many elements competing with each other that it is a little chaotic and so my interest isnt really caught on any one thing. |

Paris Landing Golf Courseby RockBruiseComment: The major factor in the image seems to be the lighting. It's very flat and as such very undramatic. The colors also seem rather drab. Different lighting conditions, often based on time of day, can really make a difference to the impact of an image. |

Prism Monkeyby NefirComment: This doesnt really appeal to me, but I'm not a very big of abstract images in general. |

Joy Luck Clubby whiteroomComment: This is a really engaging image. It captures a wonderful sense of personality. The mix of contrasting colors and textures, as well as the square crop, are all perfect for the shot. |

Absorbed by the Musicby grainman9Comment: What stands out most for me is the tone. My brain is telling me that this looks like the yellow of an 'incorrect' white balance. The yellow of the music sheet could suggest an aged look, but the rest of the image lacks any white. The image isnt a true sepia or tinted image (at least as it appears to me) so hence the 'too yellow' feel.
The image itself reminds me of a whodunnit. There is an unspoken story and an element that engages the brain. |

Mercuryby L1Comment: How totally cool and unusual. What is that thing on his back? Or is it over his shoulder? It's fascinating! |

she worries I will steal her soulby posthumousComment: The lighting seems a little flat and low. I know dark usually means mysterious but having an additional light just on her face or something to brighten it up and give more of a focal point may have helped bring some more drama to the shot. Also the shadow is a little distracting. |
