This was done in photoshop. I believe it is called photo manipulation and I am still trying to learn how to do it well. I started with a photograph of crocus, did polar coordinates, "painted" in most of the grass with black, then used the liquify filter to "draw" what I wanted. It's a lot of fun but to do it self-taught as I am is probably the long way to learn. Am hoping to take a class soon:)

I gave this a 10 - just wanted to say I really like the shot and like the fact that even though the butterfly was not "perfect", it is still very beautiful. Great shot! :)

Definately meets challenge. I like the focus on the primary subject - and the colors are really good. Although I normally like things to be left as they are naturally, I think in this case I would clean off the shell, Also, I would try this without the second shell in the top right - I would rather focus on the one shell that is in such good focus!
