based on the top 10 , i think this should have scored higher, the focus is great, the composition is right on. i guess from what i read people were not sure what this is , hence they voted you down

i keep on reading in the forums how you are going through a dry spell.
trust me for the first 65 challenges i was stuck mainly in the 5's.

your portfolio speaks for itself, it's very hard for me to pick a picture that need technical commenting.

nbut i have to say this , this shot and it's outtake is an inspiration for me, after i saw it i was outhere trying to get that effect on water with long exposure.

i would say keep up your work, and you 'll be back in the 6's soon!

technically speaking this is a great picture, i think the reason why this is not score higher is the ffact that 5 second voters here at DPC could not link it to dreams.

nevertheless the idea is great in my opinion especially that it's such a touching subject

i think what killed your score is the fact the flower is slightly out of focus and the drink is completly out of focus. hence you should have increased your aperture to improve your DOF.
another think you should have included all the glass.

great idea nonetheless, looking forward to see more of your work.

i am not sure how i missed this shot, this is a great capture, the fog/smoke gives it such a mystical feel. great job! you asked me what would make this score higher, i can't tell you because i am trying to figure it out myself i just got a 6.9 and not even a top 5:)

i think in the end it's all bout the wow factor, and how many people you can impress.

technically this shot is flawless, and meets the challenge(free study in this case) so that's a 6 guarantee , every 0.1 point after that is depending on how much you impress in my opinion.

this is a great idea, in my opinion what lowered your scored was your composition, in other words, i think the camera almost at level with the paper would have given this a more dramatic effect.

great idea, the only problem with this i think was the harsh lighting, a bit more diffused light over the whole picture would have given a better effect , and probabbly this picture would have scored higher!
