Does not really meet the challenge in my opinion, will give you the benefit of the doubt...

Background is very noisy, this needs a run through neat image or the like. Since the challenge was advanced editing, you could have just applied the noise reduction to the owl, keeping the background sharp.

Composition is also very centred, and the owl seems a bit soft to me.

This is really good. I like those rays of light in an otherwise dark frame. Composition is excellent. Good choice on the minimalistic frame, something flashy would have been very distracting in this shot.
