I think that increasing the f number (if possible) to increase the dof would help, here. Indeed, IMO the out of focus "death" battery damage the shot.

This shot is well focused and the dof is managed with care leaving the out of focus batteries still recognizable. I do not find something really interesting and I do not really like the composition, but these are not real problems.
What I really find unpleasant are the psychedelic colors and the border. IMO the latter does not add anything to the shot, and is quite too intrusive catching the attention to the detriment of the shot.
