I'm not surprised to see this photo so far down the list given DPC voters' traditional preferences, but I AM disappointed to see it so. I really enjoyed this photo. As I said in my comment during voting, it really evoked the fluidity and ethereal nature of a sumi-e painting. I'd be curious to know what the subject is.

Wow I like the old school metronome. I can't decide if the amount of motion blur is just right, or a little too much. I have to disagree with Mephisto here, this photograph screams 'music' to me. In any event the focus is on the conductor's tools, from the baton to the creative use of conductor's sheet music as a subtle background to make the subjects pop.

I like the idea with this, and the toothbrush bristles from this angle are a great subject. the background is way distracting and busy though, and I feel like the orange may not be a good complement for the red white and blue. you should try photographing this guy again on a low saturation, featureless or solid color background, i think it would look really neat.

i like the bokeh in this shot, but it ends up being a bit distracting for the composition. very crisp and refreshing otherwise.
