Hmmm, I'm not really sure what this one is about. It doesn't appear real strong technically (out of focus, no real subject, etc) and it doesn't look journalistic. For me, if it is photojournalism, it needs to be fairly clear in the shot what the accompanying text would be talking about. This one is a couple of guys on a street with video equipment, no idea why they are there or what the point is.

Hmmm, this one just doesn't do it for me as a great shot or journalistic.

To me, it lacks focus and seems noisy. Maybe the soft focus was on purpose, but if so, I'd want to see it softer. It either would need to be very in focus or more out of focus to be more interesting. As it is, it is between the 2. It could be cropped tighter too as the bottom part seems irrelevant.

Those things would maybe make it a better photo, but I still think it would lack any journalistic qualities.

Looks like something I'd see in a magazine article for "promoting a healthy lifestyle". I like the journalism angle to this one. To me though, it looks a little "overcooked" in PP.

Beautiful image, I could see it on a magazine cover very easily. This one to me has the balance I am looking for of "great photo" with "looks journalistic". The only thing I might like better is either a little more detail on the right side or perhaps some of the right side cropped off. As it is, there's nothing there, just a 95% black void.

I don't want to sound overly harsh, but I don't think I will rate this one well. This looks like a hurried, "I've got to get something shot for the challenge and don't know what to shoot!" type of shots.

It's out of focus, not a real interesting image, and not real strong on the journalism part except for the title.

Take a look around at others in the challenge and find ones you think are great to compare to this one.

Great action moment. The only thing better would've been the look on everyone's faces as they react to the call. I think it was in the sports shooting tutorial where it was mentioned that great sports shots don't always show the action of the play, but sometimes the reactions to it.

I wish there wasn't so much dust in the foreground, but I bet you couldn't do anything about that.

This is one that goes the opposite direction as far as out of balance.

To me, challenges on this site are about balancing a great photo w/ the definition of the particular challenge.

This one is a great photo, very beautiful and well executed, but it seems like a bit of a stretch to call it journalism. If not for your title, I might think it would have nothing to do w/ journalism.

This is another one for me where it is out of balance as far as "news happening" versus being a great photo. It's got tons of real news going down, but we can't tell what's blowing up and I'd want to see that better. You may not have been able to get a better view, but that is what I think would've improved this (the pier in the foreground is distracting).

Yikes! Did you have to run out of the way to not get sprayed?

Great shot, well executed, looks like something we'd see in a magazine article about farming or pesticide use.

This is a good shot - makes me want to see the exhibit. I could see this in the paper.
