A lot soft might well be OK, and crisp would work well, but this I have difficulty with. | Photographer found comment helpful. |

I really like the idea. The execution leaves me wanting a little bit more, but alas, I'm not sure I can put a finger on why. Perhaps the bottles are just a little too far out to the edge of the frame for my tastes??
Anyway, pretty good job. And I commend you for the effort -- I'm guessing you got wet for this one! :-) | Photographer found comment helpful. |
| 10/05/2006 12:14:54 PM | Beerby JimmieComment: I really like the concept of this photo... frosted bottle, with just the logo wiped away. It could work well being worked into a 15 second TV spot or something, even -- maybe someone gets the beer out of the freezer, whipes off the logo to make sure they're getting the right bottle, pops the top, chugs it (or pours it out into a glass), and then sets down the empty, still frosted, logo showing. Or something like that... could be quite compelling, I think. (And I don't even drink beer. ;-)
As for the photo, though, I think there's a lot of room for improvement. I find there's too much going on in the background -- it's all blury and indistinct, but it's still busy enough to be distracting. I also think a nice single directed light source type situation might work well for this... somewhat hard, but somewhat soft too -- like maybe close to a table lamp or something, where it would make bright highlights and dark shadows. As it is, it's a bit dull looking. Also, it'd be nice if you'd grabbed the bottle by the bottom or top only, and not at the level that was going to be in the shot, so all the ice would be intact, except for the logo.
I'm thinking I can't rate the photo all that highly, but I liked the idea enough that I wanted to let you know my thoughts. |
| 10/04/2006 12:25:01 PM | Miles Away From Ordinary by DanielCzajaComment: Straight out of their campaign... except for that sensor dust. :-( Still, nicely done. Might move the framing and/or the bottle so the bottle is a little further left in frame, though. Too centered for my personal tastes, anyway. |
