My Son Whom I Loveby hotpastaComment: I gave this a 6 - I really like the light and tones, but the focus is a little soft. Had it been tack sharp, I would have given this an 8. :o) |

Night Shadesby romanlathamComment: Great idea! I love that you created the glasses instead of using real ones. Well done. :o) Also, I really like the starry lights from the parking lot. The sky texture is a little too digital-y for my taste - from the saturation or color adjustments, most likely, though I do like the color. :o) 7 |

Four Eyes by Samantha_TComment: Lovely high key - interesting composition. Bumped this up to 9...I only wish there was a touch more DoF to sharpen her iris. :o) |

a million dollars a pairby mrchhasComment: 6 for it being a super creative idea! If this were a little brighter with more dimensional light and a better composition, it would be fantastic! |

Peace in Solitudeby BrielleComment: Originally posted by wwjdwithca: This was my favorite image in the contest, the composition, the colors and the lighting setup. How did you do the lighting by the way? Thanks for the effort, it's not that I don't love shots of pickles on a table (that normally win these contests), but I do really enjoy these types of pictures. There is so much work involved, yet it seems to go unnoticed. One requirement to me is, "Would I put this on my wall?", and this clearly meets that! Nice work. |
Thanks so much! I used an SB-600 flash (on a stand just off to camera right) triggered by a Pocket Wizard transceiver. I also velcro'd a warm toned gel over the flash to give it a warmer cast and the set the person apart a little more from the background. :o) Message edited by author 2012-03-19 11:20:03. |

Not at all lonely, as the challenge topic and description require.

Thank you for taking the time to comment, LydiaToo. While I agree that the challenge stipulated "loneliness", which indeed has negative connotation, to me, "solitude" also stipulated in the challenge description), is not relegated to sadness or negative connotation. Sometimes an evening spent in your favorite place by yourself is exactly what you need. :O) |

Purpletasticby Purple_GirlComment: Very pretty and great makeup and processing...My only critique is that it lacks a story. |
