nice colors, the thing about reflections though is you always want to crop in whatever the main subject matter is. i can see what you were trying to capture but because of the many ripples it take alot out of the potential.
I love the colors, you're so lucky to have such nice colors at fall where you live.
your exposure is nicely captured and the eye tends to follow the bottom portion of your picture which is ok but the upper portion of the picture is so destroyed with that many ripples that its really just the lower portion that works. like i've suggested before, perhaps cropping in the real part of the reflection would have helped your entry score higher..

very cute, I dont know why the toy monster truck is in this shot as it does not aide to the shot. the shadow being casted on her cheek is a bit dark but the shot is very nicely exposed aside that. i like how the complection is captured as well. no signs of overexposure as well good job.
although I see no "what" factor to the shot, its a nice snap shot nonetheless.

very nice concept. did you notice that your water bubbles are over exposed? a great aide to this picture would have been cropping in tighter..there is many useless objects around your water tank that would help set the mood if they were not there.
your dof is nice but some of the fishies seem to be a little soft.

heres an idea, instead of doing your entire tank for the shot focus on just a small area of your tank to give it the illusion of an underwater shot, because we can see the tank it loses alot of its edge. the algea growing on the bottom doesnt help either ;)

sometimes going the extra mile for a shot is what sets people apart from the rest...maybe setting a cloth behind the tank with some help of a friend would creat different lighting or perhaps even a color gel. be creative and expirement.

not much you can do with fire expect just get the lighting right and the lighting is perfect, i dont see no hint of over exposures. i like the silouhete (Sp?) to me the image is a little soft but i'm not complaining. nice shot

well my first impression is...this is different. if you didnt expect much from this shot though I dont see why you want it to be criticized but i'll continue doing so anyway.

the flash is way too distracting, it makes the picture very unpleasant to look at, although your cropping is fine, i would like to see more of his shadow cast in this shot.
I dont know what all you did to get the picture look like a negative but its also a bit distracting...perhaps you were just messing around with this shot entirely and wanted to see what we thought. well It is obvioulsy different and thats all it is.

you did an excellent job at capturing a kitten, they seem to be always be hyper when i try to shoot mine. anyway the image is too saturated your whites have NO detail what so ever and in the photography world you must always try to expose your whites to keep detail. i suggest you meter your whites next time...although i'm not sure how your camera (konica-minolta) works. I think a reason it looks as blown out as it does is because you used the on camera flash...thats a big no-no, if the flash isnt doing a good job as i am assuming try bringing your subject into a better lit area.

like everyone on here below me says that you might have gone overboard with the sharpness..I agree with them. dont try to make your picture look soo unnatrual although it may be your style you just went a little over on this picture.

I think cropping it a different way would have also helped, I dont know how the rest of the picture is but maybe cropping in on just the kittens face and leaving the empty space to the left of the kitten would help a little.

the shot is not very eye catching, no pun intended ;)

anyway, first things first. when trying to shoot a picture espically with a P&S always avoid shooting directly in light the light source is very distracting..i suggest moving your subject over to completly cover up the light source so it creates what I love as a rim of light over the edge. its a beautiful effect!

now onto the main subject.
the entire image is very soft, that means its not sharp like it needs to but since it is a p&s, not much you had to work with..although i love your idea in this picture it lacks the reflection needed to earn you a higher spot in this category. like i said, the lighting would have also helped out dramatically.

your title is very creative, perhaps you should help me name my pictures for future contests!

now this is the type of reflection i wanted, a black car does wonders for acting like a mirror the only problem i see is that the chrome is over exposed on some parts and tends to show blown out, but thats ok since the rest of the picture is perfect.

I have a problem with one thing though, i dont know which of the two reflections you intended to be your favorite for the shot. if i were you i'd capture just one of the reflections and crop to fit that, exposing just a bit of the other. like for example use the windows reflection and show just up to the door handle for the crop. it would add alot more to the picture or vice versa. crop out some of the window and leave the entire panel, or maybe focusing on just the bel-air logo and leaving the background as the reflection...who knows i'm just trying to see what could be helpful here lol. I just think two main subjects can sometimes be a tad distracting.

the colors are very nice, i love the effect of the sky in the body panel but theres a dark line running thru part of it that seems to take away from that beauty. your camera did a good job being on auto and there isnt much you can do to change your settings so for what its worth this shot is very nice, congrats.

I like how you happend to have the red not over saturated...that seems to be my problem when i shoot a red rose. the only problem with this shot is too played out if you know what I mean. everyone has a shot of roses, in order to compete in contests like these you must stand out. although the main subject (the rose) is very nicely exposed and the shadows are soft, the light emitted from the trees causes a slight distraction thats not necessary. this picture needs alot more "bam" as emeril would say ;)

I dont know about this one... it has a snap shot feel like someone has mentioned. I dont like how the sky is very very white (aka blown out)...its distracting and the boats around the boathouse have random colors which distract even more!
although the reflection is there and is captured...it does not seem to be the main subject matter which in this contest it should have been.

I suggest you also try to have the shot level..it lookes to lean like the tower of piza

what i suggest if you wanted to really score high on this was to zoom in on the reflection and only allow the bottom half of the boathouse to be shown..although that is just my style and my not seem to be of interest to you it would have helped reduce the distractions of the randomness around the boathouse.

overall its a nice shot to have for your family to enjoy of what looks to be such a beautiful day enjoyed by your family! and I thank you for sharing your lovely experience with us!
