swingby marianaComment: This is a cool shot. I really like the composition. The background is muted well and keeps your eyes on the boy. Also the lines (chains) converge on the subject which really makes this work. I think I would rate it higher, though, if it showed his face, perhaps with a big grin. |

Kaplaby GeneralEComment: I like the tension. The perspective distortion adds to the drama. I also like that I can see the face of the builder of the tower. He seems very intent and focused which is good for the picture. The fact that it is b & w is probably a very wise choice with this since it gives you a stronger sense of the repetition with the blocks. There seems to be a fair amount of grain in this, but I don't think it matters too much for this particular shot. The prominent feature of this photo is the face of the tower and other than a nice repetition and good contrast there isn't anything there that keeps my attention. |

WEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!by yourbuddyjhawkComment: This is play. If you had the face then it would be a fine snapshot. As it is, you just have a body at the playground. Maybe some motion blur to add a little to the WEEEEE effect? |

Dollhouse by bucketComment: I like this a lot. I like the lighting on the girl and the pov is very good. I only wish I could see through the glass a little better. |

eyes - a child's weapon, a mother's weaknessby ziggy_fawComment: Nice placement of eyes along the top third and the one eye at the right/top intersection. Very captivating eyes, even if a little smug in expression. Light on the face is very nice with pleasing modeling. Reflection off the lips is a nice touch also. Eyes don't quite seem sharp though.

The softness seems to be in the whole photo, which may be deliberate (If so, please disregard this part of the critique). I mention the eyes b/c that is the subject of the photo.
My personal taste would be to use the USM filter in photoshop to sharpen the whole image up just a little. It wouldn't take much though, just a touch. The photo is very powerful as it is.
The theme of "a mother's weakness" is a nice emotional dimension. Although I don̢۪t have any kids yet, I̢۪m sure many will relate well to the emotion. The expression on the child's face is a somber one and my preference is toward the reflective to chipper side.
BTW-those eyes are AMAZING! |

Imagine If...by ShannonLeeComment: I really like the placement of the person. The detail in the shadows is good, particularly the row that leads up to the person. Image is very sharp and follows rule of thirds well. |

A peekby ad12Comment: If it weren't for the title, the subject would be unclear. Perhaps showing something through the blinds rather than the blinds themselves. Subject is not at intersection of 1/3 lines. |

Funny Boneby TejComment: Fantastic photo! Thirds rule is repeated by the circular rings in the lower one third. Monkey is perfectly placed; his expression, very monkey like! Depth of field is good, although the multi-colored squares hanging in the background distract a little bit. Otherwise perfect in my book! |

Blurby cwalmyeComment: The nose of the rider is smack on the 1/3 line. Very nice effect with the pan. Sense of motion/speed is excellent. Would like to see focal point at intersection of 1/3 lines. Though this would be very difficult to frame in this case. |
