Not knowing what it looks like in color I couldn't say it would be better but this definitely doesn't work for me in black and white. I think the lighting contrast is too strong to remove all the color.

There were a number of lens caps as glasses shots but this was by far the best executed. The somewhat de-saturated look, slight sgrunge beardm and the smoke curl complete the cool look. Cropping off the top of the cap quite so tightly detracts a little but still a top vote getter from me.
