Good capture of friendship and the familiarity that it breeds (in a good way); I think the comments so far sum it up nicely. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Wonderful. Such detail and texture. I wonder as did others about a bump in contrast, but I too like high contrast. In this case, though, I wonder if some burning and dodging might be better than a straight contrast boost. That's because I love the reeds the way they are, and if you bump the contrast, they'll change, too. So, maybe some dodging on the snow to make it brighter and more white (while controlling it so as to not blow it out, something you've avoided well in the initial shot)? I do like it as is, though . . .

I, too, love the mystery in this; where does it really lead? Where would you go if you walked there, subway trains aside? You've captured the shadows wonderfully here.

I see the "title shoehorn" police visited your shot, too (some of their cohort stopped by mine, as well). I think it's a great idea, well executed, and fun to look at!

The light you needed, you captured; the time you had, you used; without space, you went to your subject. And in so doing, you brought us the light, the shadows, and your subject. Wonderful shot.

And as I stood on the street, the bird ignored me, drinking from the water along the cobblestones, immune to my presence, with a delicate balanced step forged in the foundry of time. I looked, and he was gone . . .

Thanks for capturing him for us, Deb, your work is always a delight. Welcome home :)

Excellent start to the challenge; if this is any indication, I'm going to enjoy playing here (both posting and commenting). I think my favorite part of this is the way everything at the other end of the expanse is hinting at disappearing into the fog, but it's actually still there. Nice.

I love this photo! I love it just as it is, with the story it tells, the almost humans playing in the background, your subject almost being pasted on top of this otherworldly scene, the isolation you've provided with light, color, distance. What a great abstraction thrown in as the background to what is otherwise pure practicality. Delightful! I've nominated you for an OOBIE, great stuff!

Absolutely fantastic image. I agree with Louis that the score is a disgrace; if I had seen this at the time I would nominated you for an OOBIE. For me it fits the theme perfectly and in a very imaginative and intriguing way. I would have given this a nine or ten, depending on my mood when I saw it. Excellent shot, with no suggestions for improvements (it's great as is).

Excellent shot (you already knew I thought that); As for our respective placements, I wonder what would have happened if I hadn't been "trolled" :P Glad this worked so well for you, it's a great shot, and a wonderful portrait of your daughter.
