grand canyon trip 470.jpgby bigalphaComment: Mess with the levels on this, clip the blacks and white a TON, and increase the midtone contrast a bit. change the hue/sat decrease the lightness and saturation on the blues and up everything else a bit. Run a pass of USM (unsharp mask) at about 100,.5,0 but only at this size, larger pics need different settings than small. |

campus pics 052.jpgby bigalphaComment: Well, the technicals are necessary as Nick said, but there REALLY needs to be someone/something even slightly interesting at the end of that gargantuan leading line. |

Who's in Charge!?...SAY IT!by RazorsEdgeComment: Frame is cropped too closely above the queens head, specular highlights on the king detract. The queen intersects the background OOF element, which draws the eyes away too much. Sharpness of in focus elements is not very good. The background elements are overall more brightly and evenly lit than the queen/king, try a gobo between the oof elements and the light to reduce the spill. soften the light with a thin piece of cloth (sheer silk work great) or a thin piece of tracing paper. |
