Funny, I'm not very bothered about the softness of his face. The first thing that drew me to this is his expression and the softness seems almost natural since energy is not static but rather fluid (hope that makes sense). I didn't even notice the hair till I read your comments. Anyway my point is that, I'd focused on his face and crop out the other bits. This photo is all about the kid's expression, not his hair. The background is distracting and doesn't do his face justice. Just my thought.

Minx! Now did she do that on her own or did you ask her to? Nice shot either way.

This is really a wonderful crisp portrait and it would have been much better if the red curtain filled up the white space on the right (guess you can't help that). Alternatively, you could do a slightly tighter crop up to his shoulders and that would solve the problem. :) The kid's expression is something to behold - such pride in what he's doing!

Graffiti art has always fascinated me. This is an excellent find and the way you've framed it gives tribute to the art. Also like the one with the girl on the wall.

Putting aside the challenge as I missed voting, I find lightning bolts really hard to do well. This is really nicely taken and the colours of foreground and background complement wonderfully.

Lovely portrait. I don't know what you did with the lighting but it obviously worked great!

Lovely combination of shapes and colours indeed! Just seems to lack a wee bit of sharpness - don't know if a little bit of PS might do.

Very very nice! Almost abstract-like, seen as a whole (hope that makes sense).
